AMA Rejects Proposals To Water Down Accreditation Standards For Health Profession Training
The AMA has rejected the draft report of the Review of Accreditation Systems within the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme, as it would allow more bureaucratic and political interference in health workforce training. Alternatively the AMA believes that a more cautious approach is warranted, focusing on measured changes that build on and improve current systems and processes.

More training needed for doctors treating FGM survivors
The illegal practice of female genital mutilation is shrouded in secrecy, but it does affect Australian women. The AMA has called for more training and education for doctors in how to identify and treat FMG patients for their ongoing medical complications.
