AMA submission to the Senate Inquiry into Higher Education and Research Reform
In early February the Government introduced into the Australian Parliament revised legislation to give effect to its higher education reform plans. The Senate has established an inquiry into the revised legislation, to report by 17 March 2015.
This latest submission reiterates the issues that we raised in our submission to last year's Senate inquiry. We are especially concerned with how the Government’s decision to deregulate university fees and reduce the subsidy for Commonwealth Supported Places will affect medicine.
